We're a small team of swimmers, engineers, and backyard pool tinkerers who decided the fix didn't need to be complicated — it just needed to live in the phone already in your pocket.

Your pool data never leaves your pool
Clear Rays: Pool Companion was built on a simple principle: the app should never need your personal information to do its job. This Privacy Policy explains, in plain terms, exactly how little we handle — because the answer is close to nothing at all.
1. Information We Collect
We collect none. Clear Rays does not ask for your name, email, location, or any other personal identifier. The pool profiles, test readings, dosing history, and maintenance logs you create are entered by you, for you, and are never transmitted to us or anyone else.
2. How We Use Information
Because no information is collected, none is used, analyzed, aggregated, or sold. There are no analytics dashboards on our end tracking how you use the app, and there is no profile of you or your pools sitting on any server — because no such server connection exists.
3. Data Storage
Every pool profile, volume calculation, chemistry reading, and log entry is stored locally on your device using standard on-device storage. There is no cloud backup, no remote database, and no syncing mechanism. If you uninstall the app, that locally stored data is removed along with it.
4. Third-Party Services
Clear Rays does not integrate third-party analytics kits, advertising networks, or crash-tracking services that phone home. The app is designed to function fully offline, so there is no continuous connection through which third-party data collection could even occur.
5. Data Security
Because your information never leaves your device, the biggest security risk is the same as it is for any local app: physical access to your phone. We recommend using your device's standard lock-screen protections. There is no account to be breached and no server-side database that could be exposed.
6. Children's Privacy
Clear Rays does not knowingly or unknowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Since the app requires no account creation, no email, and no personal details from any user regardless of age, it is compliant with the spirit and intent of COPPA by design.
7. Your Control
You are always in full control of your data. There are no accounts to manage, no consent forms to revoke, and no data-deletion requests to file with us — because we never had your data in the first place. Deleting a pool profile inside the app removes it instantly and permanently from your device; uninstalling the app removes everything else.
8. Changes to This Policy
If our approach to privacy ever changes — for example, if a future update introduces an optional cloud feature — we will update this policy, revise the Effective Date above, and make the change clearly visible within the app before it takes effect. Our default commitment remains offline-first and data-minimal.
